An Error Terminates my Burning Process of a DVD and Shuts Donw my Computer....!!

Broni my computer is not letting me download the software

What happens?

When i tried to dowload        http://www.memtest86.com/,  it give me a few choices i tried all of them and none works

I just tried  Download - Memtest86 v3.4a ISO image (zip), and it went through with no problem.

It is telling me to install a dvd is that normal?

You don't have an option to save that file?

Yes and i check that option but my dvd software program takes over.....

Since it's ISO, maybe some of your program wants to burn it straight to CD. You may try it. Use CD, not DVD.

It did save it to the dvd and it reads:

windows cannot open this file MEMTEST.IMG

Save it to your hard drive, and burn it to CD. CD!

Ok it gives me a folder that says BOOT,  when i open that folder  it has another  BOOT (security) an d that MEMTEST.

My question what program should i use to open the memtest? i tried internet explorer and doest support also tried windows media player......no luck

Like Broni have already said you need to burn it to a CD. You're not supposed to try and open the memtest file you downloaded.
That being said it shouldn't be called MEMTEST.IMG. I suggest you download it again.

If you don't how to burn the ISO file do this:
Download ImgBurn and install it.
right click the iso file and select 'Burn using ImgBurn'. In the new window that pops up press the button in the bottom left corner.

Now restart the computer with the burned CD in your CD drive.

I was able to run the mem test and at the end it says that Pass complete no errors, esc to exit.

Also there is a lot of infor here is some:

I'm out of options here...Maybe Windows reinstall, if you have any CD..
