can't access IE or any other internet connections
« on: January 21, 2008, 10:11:13 PM »
I am new to this site...I am running XP with 320 mb ram, 75mb hard drive. A couple of days ago I tried to connect to IE and wasn't able to connect.  I am able to connect with all my other computers.  I was able to go to the command prompt and ping a web site but not on IE.

Have someone put the installer on a USB drive or CD-ROM and install it on your computer. Also, if this is broadband, do you have a broadband filter installed?

Click on Start, click on Run, type in firewall.cpl and click OK. Is Windows Firewall enabled or disabled?

It's cable, I don't see why it would block aim and yahoo but allow pings as these are all different ports..

Can always try the GET command if you have it in your command prompt to test your connection

"get http://google.com"
