CRT or LCD?

I use an LCD, but only because my room is tiny and I need space on my desk. I prefer CRTs because they provide a clear image at all resolutions, while LCDs only like their native resolution.

I wouldn't say that CRT provide a clear image at all resolutions.  Instead I would say that CRT provide a solid refresh rate at all resolutions.

However, with the advance in LCD techonology, we've got LCD monitors with refresh rates of 3 ms and below.  Even for gaming, I'd take the LCD.  It's much easier on the eyes.

I much prefer an LCD.
I find the picture quality is better, and they take up less space.
Also, not all LCDs are only good at their native resolution - I have one that looks equally fine at 1024x768 up to 1280x1024.

i definetly go with CRT. they may have less resolution than a LCD but the dont have screen burn like LCD Monitors have when being left on.

LCD's don't have screen burn... that's plasmas.  Are you thinking of ghosting?

ghosting is when the screen refresh rate is too low (say you have an older LCD, or a really cheap new one) for whatever you're doing.  You usually see ghosting most on older LCD's when you're playing graphic-intensive games.  Ghosting looks basically like there's a ghost image (trails) of whatever's on your screen.

"A problem in LCD screens when tiny pixels creating the image take time to switch on and off and can't do it fast enough. The problem, widely recognized as the main drawback of LCD screens, is apparent in fast moving objects such as tennis balls, but even slower moving images get fuzzy. Burn in can happen with CRTs too.
That's why we have screensavers, and why I turn my screen(s) off when not in use.

actually now all the crt have heat shinks built-in that prevent screen burn without screen savers.

Acer AL1916W bought just before Xmas to replace a 17" View Sonic top of the line CRT and the difference is fantastic - I'll never go back to a CRT again based on picture quality and resolution, never mind the added benefits of weight and desk top space savings.
