Cannot access http sites (https works)
« on: January 10, 2005, 12:03:21 PM »
This is strange.  IE can no longer access web sites that begin with http, but I can connect to https (secure) sites.  I get the "cannot find server/page cannnot be displayed" remark.  Netscape connects with no problem.

I did not download or change any software between IE working and not workring.

I have run spyware.  I have run antivirus software and even turned off Norton Firewall, all to no avail!

Help!

Win XP Home Ed. with sp2  I.E. ver 6.0.29

Problem solved!!  There was a compatability issue with Norton Security (Firewall).  After I removed 8080 from the post list, IE worked.  Now Weather Bug also works.
