    i read this post already: http://www.computerhope.com/forum/index.php/topic,48260.0.html and saved the file to the registry, but i'm a little unsure about how i'm supposed to reedit my sound scheme.

    Does your sound problem affect Firefox only?

      no, it did it with ie7. i got it fixed though. just did a system restore. that seems to fix everything..... ;D
