    Transapent pixels
    « on: January 31, 2008, 09:43:15 AM »
I am currently running  windows XP (original MSP). I have just put together a new machine. Biostar NF61S MOBO amd x2 4400 CPU ATI X700 video card(512Mb) with 1 GB of kingston DDR2 ram (667). problem is when I am running any program with movement IE Games /screensavers I have pixelated transparent blocks on the screen. Not sure if I need more RAM or it a bad card. most other applications work fine including straight video... any thoughts ?

To determine if it may be the card swap the card into another machine and load the drivers and see...
You can do the same thing to check if it's the monitor.

Unfortunately, I am unable to swap the card out, My old system has a AGP card. However, the Monitor I am currently using is a Envision H1981 and is less than 6 months old. And this problem was not seen on My old system which was also a ATI card, so I don't believe the monitor to be bad :(
