    « on: February 05, 2008, 07:17:10 PM »
I am having problems accessing files on my computer. files that i have placed on the hard drive will not let me access them again. this is a new laptop and I am the only user that is or has ever been on the unit. I copied documents from myold laptop to the hard drive on my new laptop. I have used them in the past but in the last couple of days I can not access them anymore. I hav enot added any software or hardware or made any other changes on this laptop. Can someone help me?

i have tried system restore back to the last restore point but not to factory specs as this would defeat the pourpose. i would not have the docs anyway if i did that.

I get no explanation or reason that access is denied.. it is very frustrating.

System Restore doesn't have an option to factory specs.
How did you access System Restore?

Try taking ownership of the folders/files.  See here.
