computer internet problem

i am having problems, like I go on the internet and go to like say a email card site and want to click on to a card, the window opens and closes, it will not open for me and stay. Help this is frustrating?
Windows xp and internet explorer 6.

It could be  a Pop-Up stopper doing it's thing, try holding the CTRL key down when you go to the card site. Otherwise, if you have a program like SpywareBlaster or PrevX, it may not like the junk the card site is trying to dump on you and kills the window before it can d/load the junk.
