Mouse behaving erratically
« on: February 10, 2008, 04:09:45 AM »
Hey everyone, hope you're having a good weekend  ;)

Every so often, my mouse pointer will suddenly zoom around the screen in completely random patterns. It lasts for only a second or two, but it's becomming very annoying.

The mouse says 'Microsoft basic optical 1.0A' at the bottom if that's any help?

(well, it's written on the bottom - If the mouse said it, that would be quite scarey)

Can someone help me with this scarey mouse with a mind of it's own please?

Thanks in advance...

    Wireless or wired?
Do you have drivers installed for it or are you using the default Windows mouse driver?

    Sorry Deerpark, wired & default.

Also, I noticed I have 2 entries for a 'HID-compliant mouse' under hardware, is this right? (for 1 mouse!)

No it doesn't.... unless it's laptop.
You can uninstall the two mice detected in the device manager and reboot to see if Windows reinstall "two" mice.
