Nvidia 7600GT problem
« on: February 16, 2008, 03:08:59 PM »
I have had my new video card for a year and no problems until recently. Whenever I boot up the yellow exclamation mark appears next to my driver for my display adapter so I update reboot ad the same problem again and again. How can I get the PC to keep my settings.
I have windows xp sp2 32.

Uninstall current driver, first. Restart computer, and install new driver.

Physically remove the card and do a few cold boots.
Then replace the card making sure it is seated properly and re-boot and re-install the drivers.
As always when working inside the case make sure all power is removed.
Was this video card having issues prior to this ? ?

ok i will try that. No problems whatsoever before. I was wondering if somehow the BIOS or registry setup has been affected somehow recently?

OK just spent another hour doing as you said Patio but the problem persists.
What about a bios or registry problem. Could sthg have happened to affect either or both of these?

If you have tried an updated driver revert back to the one that shipped with the card...
If still no joy joy install it in another machine to check if it has failed.
