No Sound
« on: February 20, 2008, 04:00:34 PM »
Well heres my problem, my sound used to work but now whenever im streaming videos on youtube or even using Windows Media Player, no sound comes out. The strange thing is, in games i can get sound. Even though i checked control panel, it said that there was no audio device, i find this starge, and am "confuzzled" by this.

Some steps i tried taking to fix this problem.
1. Restart Computer
2. Reinstall Windows Media Player (To try to fix codec corruption (if there was any))
3. I also checked the wirse to see if everything was plugged in correctly, i also tried the speakers on other computers to see if they worked.

However, after attempting to find the problem, nothing seems to work.
Im currently running a Sony Vaio  with Windows Media Center/XP

Any help to this predicament would be helpful.

Check the Audio devices in Device Manager...any yellow  ? marks ?
Check all your settings in Control Panel/Sounds and Multimedia...any Mute buttons set ?
