unable to use wireless mouse & keboard to select safemode menu

 i am new to forums  and had trouble deciding on what  category to use
i am running  pc with
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5200+
2gb ram
NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT
 i am using a microsoft  wireless laser mouse and wireless keyboard
and when i  have to use safemode  i cannot use menu to select
 any of the menus  eg last good configuration , safemode
but if i plug in a wired mouse  all is OK
  why?

well, all i can think of is that did you install the drive for it?

Buy a PS2 keyboard...everyone should have one in the closet.
You may only use it twice a year but you'll be glad you had it...

 yes i have the drivers i have been using the wireless mouse / keyboard for about 2 yrs  woks ok except for  on the few occassions when i need to get into safe mode
