locked out of Vista Home
« on: February 21, 2008, 11:08:53 PM »
:'(I bought an Acer(not pleased) laptop with Vista Home Basic (also not pleased!!!). Without going into the numerable problems with this memory hog OS--the latest problem I've encountered is that Vista will not recognize my password. Acer accepts no responsibility and says they will fix the prob for $100.00. Microsoft just wants to shuffle the prob back to Acer. I've found a few software programs that claim they can recover my password but most of them are assuming that I have forgotten it, and they all  want a fair amount of 'change' which I don't have right now. Can anyone help me get back into my computer?

Every new machine comes with a licensed OS CD. Thus, the fastest, cost-free solution to your problem is to reload your Vista OS.

Or Call MS...they may just issue a new one change their records and avoid an OS install altogether...
