Resources Problem
« on: February 24, 2008, 09:05:34 PM »
I still run Win98SE and recently I have been getting a "FAILURE TO LOAD RESOURCES.PLEASE CHECK YOUR SETUP" message.
This has happened when I downloaded the File Hippo Updater and tried to run it.

Oddly enough, this programme worked perfectly previously.

I had to reformat and re-install  and since then this crappy problem has come up.
I tried installing Dot Net and un-installing it,to no avail.

What has gone wrong?

Tell it to me straight Doc.
I can take it.

It looks to me like application problem. Does it happen with Filehippo Updater only?

try running filehippo updater in safe mode. it maybe not able to connect to filehippo (internet site) because internet is not available thru the safe mode but if the updater run ok then it's something more....

Many thanks for your reply.

This problem aiso occurred when I attempted to instal a programme for Winamp Codex.

Before I installed dot net, I first recieved  Parsing error"Error parsing windows\system\config\machine config
Parser returned error0x80070003"
The Failure to load etc message is behind this one.

When I installed dot net,the first message sodded off,and only the failure one appeared.

I checked Windows systems and the config file is not there

The only config file is in Windows and is a general config and seems to be obsessed with midi players.

I hope this information has not just muddied the waters even worse, but, apart from that,I know nuzzing.

Thanks in advance,

Crom

If you have any version of .NET Framework installed, try to uninstall it, and install a fresh copy.
