IBM Thinkpad question
« on: February 26, 2008, 04:59:32 PM »
Hello,
I have a rebuilt IBM Thinkpad T30 that I got from a friend.  Well, when I hit the power button all I get is:
beep
beepbeepbeep
beepbeepbeep
beep

blank screen but it makes noise like it wants to boot up.

I went to the IBM website and the codes supposedly mean problem with DIMM or system board.
What does that mean?  Do I need to replace the memory or what do I need to do to fix the problem?
Can any of you help me?   ???

The beep codes indicates it's either problem with the RAM or motherboard.
The only way to test what's broken is to find some compatible RAM modules and try them instead of the ones currently installed.
