USB malfunction

i got a problem that is my USB has malfunction.... it can't detected any device when i connect to it.....can someone tell me what to do..??

    Operating system / antivirus & antispyware protection / service packs installed / when did it start happening / did it ever work right / installed any new software?

      Have you tried useing the other ports?  Did you try a know good usb device? 
      Windows 7 RC Tester.  Working on it.  Your monitor says etchasketch on the side!

      I'm using

      -win XP
      -Kaspersky anti-virus...just install
      -"service packs installed"... not sure..??
      -it happen recently when my sister used the comp..
      -b4 it malfuntion... it work fine...

      other hand i already tried other ports the result is the same..

      open Windows Explorer and click on Help/About Windows and report what it says...

        maybe your computer USB not working try another one, or it is Infected with virus that's why your USB  is corrupted and it doesnot work, doesnot recognized.
