    Error Message
    « on: March 02, 2008, 11:26:37 AM »
    Hello,
Recently I installed Macromedia Flash on my laptop which runs on Vista but it didn't install properly so I started again. During the confusion I moved the Flash icon from the start menu to the desktop so that I could have a shortcut but an error message popped up saying "Cannot find Macromedia Flash". At the time I thought nothing more of it, but now it pops up every 15 minutes even though Flash is now installed correctly. I've even tried unistalling and reinstalling Flash to see if that stopped the problem but no joy. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this error message?
    Thanks.

Macromedia Flash? I thought it was Adobe Flash now. You're probably installing a very old version.

It was Flash Professional 8 I think so I'm not sure Adobe had bought out Macromedia then, but the error message says Macromedia. It's really bugging me because there doesn't seem to be any way to get rid of it! Your only given an 'OK' button to press.

It's still called Macromedia Flash Player, but it's owned by Adobe, now.
      Ununstall Flash, using this: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157
Then go here: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/ to reinstall

Hey thanks Broni, I've done what you suggested so hopefully that will sort it out. Thanks for your time.
