    suggestion for a graphics card

    ok i have been having probs with my comp on its intergrated video and i found out the mem on the iv(intergrated video) has only 1 FREAKING MEGABYTE!
    i would like a new one since im into high lvl gamin. here are my comp specs

    OS:Win 2k
    Proccessor: Pentium III 1GHZ
    RAM: 384MB
    One additionall PCI slot

    im limited one money, my budget on buyin a new graphics card is $40.00
    can some one reccommend a graphics card plz that works with the specs i provided

          yes i would like a pci graphics card that has a VGA port. since my monitor plugs into a VGA port.

          Well, your computer sure ain't no "high lvl gamin" machine, with or without a new video card.   ::)  But, anyway, if you insist, take a look at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130289  It's actually gonna cost about $46 after rebate. 

          If you get it, go to nVidia's site and download the latest driver for it.

            Bear in mind with a system like what i'm imagining, putting in a new graphics card may put a strain on the rest of your components, ensure no compatability problems are gonna occur, you've not mentioned which motherboard it is and a new grpx card may simply overheat and shut down your pc after a short while.

              nah it wont my comp recently got a new cpu fan in it and i already tried a gpu in it and it worked fine. no overheating no shutdowns, no nothing. o and when i ment by a high lvl gamin machine i actually use it for 3D Drafting.

                To be perfectly honest, if you want a "high lvl gamin" machine you will need to splash out.
                That system is fine for office tasks, but not for anything more demanding.
                Older RTS games will run fine, but anything more recent will not.
                As 3D work generally needs the same level of hardware as the latest games, I would highly advise that you buy yourself a new computer.
