    Sysprep Error
    « on: March 03, 2008, 02:55:03 PM »
I am getting an error message stating

"There is an incompatibility between this tool and the current operating system"

    Unable to Continue

This is a clean install of Windows XP w/ Service Pack 2 from a Microsoft Select cd. The installation is smooth and I have configured everything as needed. I am running sysprep with the following options Use Mini-Setup, and Re-seal. After clicking OK I get the error message.  I am running ver 2.0 sysprep, any help would be great!

    Thanks

Please take a look at this post from the Microsoft Software Forum Network:  There is an incompatibility between this tool and the current operating system

Hopefully, this is the same issue you seem to be facing...

Read the entire post as they provide a workaround for this.

Let us know if it was successful...

Thanks for the link, I had seen that one before.  I went ahead and did a clean slate wipe re install from cd and everything worked this time.  Weird......... ???
