Installing old games... screen goes black

Hi, I just installed an old game, Bio F.R.E.A.K.S. I can go through the menu's and pick my characters alright, but when you start up a match the screen is almost entirely black. I don't know much about computers but a friend said it might have something to do with a driver. Does anyone know how I could fix this problem?

Have you tried the compatibility options?

Right click the games .exe or shortcut then select properties > compatibility.

Check the 'run this program in compatibility mode for' box then select windows 95.
