    Inspiron 6000 Video Won't Display
    « on: March 11, 2008, 10:45:56 AM »
    Hello All,

I was in the middle of dropping a Ghost image to my Inspiron 6000 and it froze at 39%.  I rebooted the laptop to restart the image but the display will not come on.  The laptops sounds like it is spinning up, and the power button is lit up but the display is black.  Any ideas?  ???

You will need to boot to the Ghost floppy and start over...Ghost overwrites the HDD as it runs so there's nothing there to boot to.

I tried but there is nothing that comes up on the screen when I reboot.  I press the power button and the HDD light fl;ickers and goes off, none of the other lights stay on either they all go out except for the power indicator.  I have been on the phone with Dell for 47 minutes now.......

        Is it still under warranty?

If they're willing to replace the MBoard because they don't want to spend time fixing the problem i say Go For It...

Have them send you an OS CD as well...problems are a great time to ask for what you should have anyway.

I agree, learned that from my father and has always held up to be the truth! I try to teach others that but its funny because they just dont understand the words, lol. I explain its a test to see if that person is worth enuf to be your friend! If not then its a cheap way to find out!
Works better if its only $10, though, lol.
