    pc freezing up

    hi,my desktop pc keeps freezing..the pc is a tiny desktop running win m.e.  Ive tried taking it back to factory setting using the disc i got with the pc but once it has loaded it seem to freeze almost immediaely...The pc is ok when i go into safe mode...CELERON 900 MHZ

                     128MB SDRAM

                      VIA PLE CHIPSET MOTHERBOARD..



    the cpu is brand new..so that rules out overheating..i tried to load win xp but once i click to open the software it freezes up....any help would be greatly appreciated...theted.....

      No it doesn't, overheating has very little to do with how new or old the processor is.
      You say the processor is new. Does that mean you have replaced it recently?

        No it doesn't, overheating has very little to do with how new or old the processor is.
        You say the processor is new. Does that mean you have replaced it recently?

        ..hi m8,i'm new to pc,s...i thought that was what it was called..i.e. c.p.u.  ???...the bit i replaced was the bit that the power lead is plugged into..inside the pc there's a small box which houses the fan... :-[...theted

        That's the power supply otherwise known as the PSU.
        How clean was it inside the case when you did this ? ?

          Did you self replace it?  If you did, are there enough paste on the top of it. 
          Windows 7 RC Tester.  Working on it.  Your monitor says etchasketch on the side!

                You may want to add more RAM for starters...
                Then also DLoad and run the diagnostics from the hard drive manuf. website to make sure the drive is healthy...

                    hi guy's.thank's alot for the advice,..it's now freezing up in safe mode :-[...i think i'll start saving the penny's and buy a new computer as this ones seen better day's....ive had it for 8 year secondhand...  :'(....

                      That doesn't mean the whole pc is bad it mite just be the hard drive.  Is there anything on the drive you need.  Try formating it.  Also, you could try another drive.
