Norton Ghost 2003 messing boot ??
    « on: March 14, 2008, 06:56:54 PM »
    hello

am trying to create a drive image for C: partition using Norton Ghost
2003  , but when the programme restarts the PC to create the image, it
freezes on splash screen and after a while it displays an error:"internal
error , stock overflow" or something like that..not only that , i am unable to
access windows anymore , Ghost creats a c: partition for itself that makes
the PC unable to boot to windows even after i delete the partition .So
the only resort i have is to reformat and reinstall the system.could it
possibly be because i only have a usb port for my mouse and NG needs a Com
    jack?

another problem is with boot cds running on the DVD RW,i tried to use Hiren's boot collection
that contains NG boot programme but the PC hangs when i choose " boot from cd" .The cd works fine on
other computers. the DVD RW can read Windows XP SP2 installation cd though.

    specs :
    -OS : XP SP2
    -MOBO :AsusTeK P5K SE.
-CPU  :Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 2.3 GHz.
-Graphics Card :Nvidia 8600 GT 256 MB.
    -DVD : TSSTcorp CDDVDW SHS202J.
    -Realtek High Definition Audio.

Any help will be appreciated .

    Thanks

    patio

    3 things it could be:

    RAM issues...DLoad and run MemTest.
HDD issues...DLoad and run the diagnostics from the drive manuf. site.
Bad Ghost image...unfortunatly there is no way to test this,,,
