    Computer really...broken
    « on: March 15, 2008, 05:28:41 AM »
I have a big problem with my computer i'm not sure what went wrong.

One day the sound stopped working on my PC so i when to check the driver. I tried updating and it froze and rebooted then an error message occurred (not sure which). After I restarted again and chose last known configuration it seemed to work apart from everything is slow and the sound still won't work  :-\

    My speakers are

    sigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC

can anyone help me on this matter?

I'm not sure if this will help but I used a Hijack This scan log (It said to post in a forum)

Any help woul be GREATLY appreciated

EDIT: when I try to run RMVP(rpg maker vx) I get a error Failed to initializse DirectX audio

    I when on to DXdiag

    and under sound i got

No sound card was found.  If one is expected, you should install a sound driver provided by the hardware manufacturer.

although i've installed the driver maybe I got a bad driver?

You have XP SP3 installed. How much experience do you have BETA testing operating systems?

Why is there no antivirus installed? There is malware so we need to take care of that.

Open Hijackthis and select Do a system scan only then place a check mark next to these entries:

      Then you should uninstall SP3.

There are instructions for installing a  good free antivirus in the link I gave. Be sure to install one and do a full system scan and then do the other steps as well.
