How to read REGISTRY in EXPLORER?
    « on: March 19, 2008, 07:44:44 AM »
I have a corrupt REGISTRY in a computer. I took the hard drive out and added it to another computer as a "D" drive. How can I read the REGISTRY information on that drive? I believe REGEDIT will check the "C" drive and I need to look at the "D" drive.

    Thanks

I don't believe you can.  I suggest you put the hard drive back in it's home computer and start a forum topic on the problems you're having with it.

Why not just return the drive to it's machine and DLoad and run ERUNT and save the backup as a text file...you can then read to your heart's content.

Editing the registry can render a machine un-bootable so be careful.

      Patio,

You have the problem. The drive makes the machine un-bootable. I'm trying to get it back in some shape using the second computer to try to figure out what is wrong. I may have to just wipe it clean, re-format, and start again, but that is the last resort. I don't even have a Start-up disk for that machine.

      Thanks

What operating system is the "registry" for?

I have to ask...what is it in the old corrupt drive's regisrty that you need?
