macdad ...you need to not try to make this an issue.
Had you simply stated XP in your experience runs better with a minimum of 512M of RAM the conversation would be over...

      yes if you get the ram i linked and install it you will have 1GB but only have that stick in not the others.
      This should make your computer much more responsive and fix that error.

        that would be even better! so i thnk most of us agree that franke should upgrade to at least 512MB of RAM.

                      According to my Dell webpage,my model does have 512 MB,with 256 MB of RAM
                      I would like someone to check my logfile for unnecessary/unwanted stuff that clutters up my RAM.

                        franke, why don't you just copy and paste the text of your Hijackthis log. These screenshots are tedious and we can't even read all of the lines.
