When i got to windows update site under IE7, and choose to install the active x, it comes up with an error: "The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page.." I have Active x enabled, temp files emptied, and have gone thru the support steps except deleting UHIST.XML. Them, you are unable to send a Windows Update support request due to the same error.
This type of thing is why i do not use IE much but FF
, which MS will not allow updates to run from (ie tab will not do it either). When i use Windows update from the Start menu, it only downloads normal updates (windows defender, etc.).
I normally run XP (faster), which i dual boot with, but thought i would try to see if sp1 helped Vista basic to be a little more than basic. Thanks for your efforts.
