Sound changed to Hall in error
    « on: March 21, 2008, 02:38:17 PM »
A while back now a box appeared on my computer and like a fool i changed the sound to hall(BIG MISTAKE). The box went off and has not appeared since and the sound on my PC is aw full and i am unable to listen to anything music etc as the sound is so distorted.
Any help would be greatfully received as i have tried everything on my PC to change this with no luck.
    PC is running Windows XP

Right click on Sound icon in systray (area next to clock), and post back what options you have there.

Hi Broni and thanks for taking the time to look at my post.

My gray sound icon has gone from the tray but i still have the following

Updates are ready for my computer / Logitech Quickcam / Google Updater / Windows Live Messenger / Adobe Photo Downloader / Google Desktop / Local area network connection.

Go Start>Control Panel, and double click on Sounds icon. What do you have there?

        Hi Broni

Sorry to have took so long to reply but i have had about the worst weekend possible.

I have been through all the option where you are pointing me to but nothing in these options allows me to change the sound from hall to the default microsft sound which is what i am trying to do.
If i can find out how to do this i think it will solve my problem.

Post your computer make, and model, please. If you have separate (not original) sound card, post its info, as well.
