USB Ports on my Laptop
« on: March 23, 2008, 11:19:18 AM »
Well, I have an HP Pavilion dv6000 w/ Windows Vista. For some reason my USB Ports wont reconize any external Hard drives. The comp. keeps telling me it does not have the driver. I try to install the driver like the comp. saids and it has the nerve to tell me that it couldn't install it. I want to know how to try to fix it. I have uninstalled the ports and reinstalled them but it has not worked. I am out of Ideas. PLEASE HELP ME ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ???

Do you have administrator rights when you were installing it? and what drivers did you try to install?

Vista should not need drivers for an external HDD...
What do you mean that you uninstalled the ports and reinstalled ? ?
