    Extras on the top bar
    « on: March 23, 2008, 11:52:52 AM »
    Hi,
I installed this program which changes the appearance of or computer
this is the program just so u know what i'm taking about
http://www.alienware.com/intro_pages/invader.aspx  (yes i do have an alienware)

Ok, now here's my problem. I installed the skin and i got these extras on the top bar (the bar that has the 'close button' and the other 2)
And there really annoying, cause they make small things unreadable
This is what I'm taking about

So does anyone know how to remove it
    Thanks

Ps what they do is, one opens Windows Media player (the circle), the other opens the alienware web site (the alien) and the last makes the window smaller (the pointy up thing)

Modifying that bar should be a function of the program your running itself...not the theme.
I think your barking up the wrong tree...

Some themes like that change the appearance of your OS. Unless you've never had this problem before, I believe it comes with the theme like Patio said.

Yea i know it's from the program.

But how did they get it there in the first place. Because they must be a way of removing it, right.

It's pretty complicating how they make custom themes but it's like creating a new program.
How do that they put that button there? How did they make it do that function?
In short, the themes change settings in windows that put it there.

'How do that put that button there?' (I never wrote that)

yes, but is there a way of keeping the theme and getting rid of the top thing's.

Sorry, supposed to be 'they' not 'that'. It was an example.

You will have to check the settings of the theme itself, maybe consult the manufacturers website.

I wrote 'how did they get it there in the first place'
            'Did' not 'do'
            No 'put'
            and I never said 'button'

Yea, I've emailed the 'skins factory' and I'm waiting for a reply.

And there's no way on the program of removing the buttons.

It's not from the Theme...it's from the program.

Unless it's a very poorly written Theme.
