Why does IE look like this ?
    « on: March 27, 2008, 02:18:10 AM »
Okay, I have IE 7.. It might be 8 because of the page you're about to see, but when I go to Help > About it says 7.

Why does it look like that? I don't know if you can tell, but the font and stuff looks different. It isn't the font I'm guessing. For those of you who can't really see it clearly, I can't really help you because I don't know how to describe it..

Maybe like too glossy or something? Not sure.

Anyone know how to turn it off?

Are you talking about the webpage Internet Explorer goes to when you start it?

Did you download IE 8 Beta 1?  Right click on Help (in IE) and select About Internet Explorer.  What version is shown?

        Um -_-

        I'm not retarded...

        Did you not read?

I'm talking about the display on the web pages. It doesn't look different to you? Is it ClearType?

Whenever I go into the Tools > Internet Options Advanced Tab, the box is blank and if I do anything like try to reset or click inside the box, IE errors out..

If you compare it with Firefox or IE6 you can totally see the difference..

soybean I downloaded the Beta but removed it... No clue why this page showed up. It's IE7. I tried removed IE7 but it's still here.

Either I didn't explain clearly enough or you guys didn't read...

I said at the bottom that it's the display that's bothering me not the home page.

It's listed as the BETA so maybe the uninstall didn't take...does IEBeta ship with any Themes and is their an option for changing them ? ?

I'm FireFox only so i'm just throwing out suggestions here.

It opens up the Beta page but when I look at About it's 7.

I was with Mozilla too until i discovered Opera

Jump on the band wagon patio.

All the cool kids are doing it.

Userfriendly, convieniant and so many features mozilla programmers could only dream about.

My fav: the ability to download torrents (legal ones uploaded by isohunt) through your browser without DLing unstable probrams like Bitcomet and Bittorrent which bring their fair share of virii.

By minimising your programs you are limiting acess points for virus' spyware malware/ etc....

And it is all updated automatically and frequently as most browsers do.

Not at all relevant to my problem. Please, take your opinion elsewhere.

Check in add/remove and see if the BETA is still listed...
Another thing you can try is DLoad; install and run CCleaner...use the issues section to clean out remnants of uninstalled apps.

the issues section is now the Registry button on CCleaner.  It used to be called Issues.  Just thought I'd mention that in case he's never seen CCleaner before and might be wondering what "the issues section" means.

Hmm I tried CC, I've tried all the other methods of uninstalling (manually finding the .exe and using Control Panel) but looks like IE just doesn't wanna go away..

What I can do is DL and install IE7 again so that I can turn off ClearType (which I did).

Is there any way to change the layout of the Address Bar and Tool Bars and such? I don't like how the Stop and Refresh Button are after the Address bar..

So, the basic problem is solved, right?

No, the Stop and Refresh Button cannot be changed.  So, you have a reason to install Firefox.

Basic problem IS solved but I don't want IE7 -_-

I do use Firefox hehe. I just wanted a change but I guess I'll stick to Firefox.
