    No USB's Working

    Hello All,

I have a Dell Opti Gx620 that once the Windows XP logo screen appears, it shuts off the USB mouse and keyboard.  I have tried Safe Mode and it does the same thing, it started with a blue screen at the login but I have resolved that.  So now I am stuck with no USB and of course the machine has only USB......any ideas?

Check the bios to see if the legacy stuff is turned on.

Can you open Device Manager and see whether it shows your USB ports as working properly?  This can be done from the keyboard, even though it's cumbersome.

I am unable to get passed the login screen because it seems that Windows is disableing the USB ports.  My keyboard and mouse are USB....I tried Safe mode and they turn off there as well.....

I believe you should be able to get passed the login screen by using the tab key and arrow keys, and maybe others, on your keyboard.
