new mobo 865 neo pe 2 ( intel-p4 2.4) ( ati 9600 se)
will bios know cpu and speed or do need to move the cmos jumper frist befor start up. ati reads cpu as less than p3.  i am in over my head . any help i would appricate.

If motherboard has jumpers, set them first.  If motherboard is jumperless, set in BIOS.  Read your motherboard manual.

board came with jumpers set on keep data . should i have cleared the data by shorting the pins befor start up .  ps. MSI user guide sucks.
