the most common cause of new builds not starting up correctly is incorrect wiring. are all the connections secure and correct? triple check all of your connections and carefully review your motherboard manual for correct wiring.

Also if your fans are not working properly it is shutting it down to protect itself from frying...follow Homer's advice.

4 Pin connector plugged in ?
          New PSU ?

Well i generally believe its the LED lights in the wrong sectors of your motherboard , check your manual online , write down the exact connection sequence and fit the led lights into the board . If you have everything plugged in correctly from the psu , it could only leave the preset wires with in the case .

                Start with a bare minimum:
                PSU
                CPU and fan
If the MBoard has onboard video use it.
                Monitor
                Mouse and Keyboard ( preferably PS2 )
                1 stick of RAM

Post back with the results and a complete list of hardware.
What RAM does the MBoard call for ? ?

You don't necessarily have to do that, yet, but one of the problem areas of builds is the lead wires that come from the front of the case for your power on/off, reset switch and LED indicators.  Depending on how good a job the system board manufacturer did with directions and documentation, it can be very easy to plug the leads onto the wrong pins on the board.  I'd at least double-check those, and then maybe start from scratch.

                  Dear Friend,
Connect the psu and mainboard with ram, cpu and its heatsink on a table and short the two pins of the pwr sw of the mainboard for 1 sec. to see if they work.

ACK!  Be careful!  If you short the wrong pins, the whole thing might turn into toast!   :o

I suggest Patio's method of starting with the bare minimum.

MOBO does not have onboard, and my mouse and keyboard are both wireless and my MOBO doesnot have a spot for the mouse (its not USB of course)
