    Gateway needs a password???

    Friends of mine have a Gateway computer.. They went to turn it on after having gone away on a trip.. Well the screen comes up and it says to hit F1, you hit F1 n it ask for a password??
    So now what do they do?? they cant find the disk for the computer and I cant seem to get anywhere with it either..

      Thats the problem, their is no password. They dont know of one for it, they have never had to use a passoword before.

        Bet he also rides a bike that has no wheels, thats the only ones you ever find in the trash. :)

        Who was using the machine while they were away on this trip ? ?
        If it's a laptop they will have to take it to a Service Center and pay to have it rectified.
        They will need Proof of Ownership.

        sounds like the battiery for the BIOS is dead and its asking for a admin password.
