harddrive works fine-screen goes dark unexpectedly..and normal again

this happens a lot. It goes into power saving mode. And then it stars again. What could it be?

    Need...more...info...gasp  :P

    Operating system / antivirus & antispyware protection / service packs installed / when did it start happening / did it ever work right / installed any new software?
