from the help (ping /?),
A. I find,in my opinion, the -j and -k can not be used in one command line.
B. the "host-list" parameter -j or -k is a string of ipaddress (decimal with dot) or hostname .They use space to part with each other like this:
> ping -j 10.10.10.1 10.20.20.1 10.30.30.1
C. the host-list mean a chain of routers, and the last is the destination Host(hostname or ipaddress)
D. the Ping command can not get the host system type.
you can try "telnet" or "ftp"
