    yes... but i got it through dell so it a disk that says "operating system reinstallation dvd windows vista home premium...."

    This is gonna restore your computer to its original state - as it came from the store.
    Try to create new Restore Point, and see, if you can use this new one.

      OK. If you don't have any important data on your computer, boot with DVD, you received, and it'll restore computer to its original state. Clean start.
