How do I combine my hard drives?

I unstalled windows 2000 om my laptop. I partitioned another hard drive. Now I want to combine the two. Can you do that?

You have to have the HDD with the operating system set as master and the other drive set as slave.

I installed win xp, is what I meant to say. My laptop was running 98 and I wanted to upgrade it. I was not sure if it was going to work, but it did. Now I have one 2gb of win 98 and 2gb of win xp. Do I need to just erase everything and start over?

Leave them separate.  Format the old Win98 partition and place all your data on it.  If you have to do a clean reinstall again, your data will not be lost.

Hello, how are you? On the back of the hard disk, there are little jumpers.

HARD DISK THAT WILL CONTAIN WINDOWS
This hard disk must be set to master. How to do this? You can see the jumper sttings on the top of your hard disk jacket.

HARD DISK THAT WILL BE CONNECTED TO ABOVE ONE
This hard disk must be set to slave. How to do this?
You can see the jumper sttings on the top of your hard disk's jacket.

Now format the hard disk on which you will install the Windows. Be sure to transfer the important data to the other hard disk or drive. If you have no operting system install then you can do all this by booting your system from Windows98 Bootable CD or Windows98 Bootable floppy.

After formating the hard disk, install the operating system and enjoy....
