    sound volume problem
    « on: May 01, 2008, 07:32:36 AM »
    Hi,

I use an Altec Lansing 2-speaker plus sub-woofer set up. For some reason, when I turn the volume knob, there is a substantial lag until the volume increases (or decreases if I turn down). Also, I notice that I can set the volume to a proper sounding level, but if the  content of what I'm listening to gets louder the volume will increase way more than it should, as if the software is reacting to the louder signal by increasing the volume level.

This is driving me nuts. I'm using Soundblaster Live!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    cheers

Do you have the latest drivers for the sound card / did it always do this, if not when did it start?

It always has done this. I have not updated the drivers for the sound card.
