Ok. Unfortunately no XP CD. Didn't get one. It's all on the computer...
However I managed to do a Non-Destructive System Recovery. As of yet I haven't had any stupid error messages pop up for any windows software.
Its made me wonder if I had two separate faults you see, because I am still getting a few errors for;
- All of McAffee, especially the virus scanner and related bits.
- Google ToolBar Notifier
- Quicktime
I tried to open Hijack this which worked this time. It scanned but I can't check the list with it online because I can't open any sort of internet application.
When I open Internet Explorer it has to close because of a problem. Mozilla Firefox opens a small error box with the info;
_______________________________________ ______________
XML Parsing Error: error in processing external entity reference.

Line number 8, column 1:

Could I have perhaps have a problem with windows and a virus? My desktop background has a lot of white dots on it too. They won't go away when I try to refresh. I think I've solved the windows bit though. At least for now.
Just thought it was odd that the programmes I'm having trouble with now are all internet related ones.
What do you think?
