    changing default on file/folder menus
    « on: May 02, 2008, 03:35:44 PM »
Sorry in advance if I did this wrong.  First time with any kind of users forum.

My laptop properties -  [dell inspiron 1100, Intell(R), Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.20 GHz, 1GB RAM, MS Windows XP, Home Edition v2002, Service Pack 2]

Situation - whenever I try to locate a file or folder in the file/folder menus, the View default presents them as 'Icons' and never remembers when I select Details.

Question - how can I change the default so that the files and folders are always listed in 'Details' when I open the menu?

If the answer really is in some FAQ, please just tell me where to find it.

    Thank you.

Open any folder and set the view to details. Then go to tools>folder options. Go to the view tab and click on "Apply to all folders"

S.G. -  your suggestion worked!  Since you don't list an email, I don't know how to thank you.  If anyone reading this knows how, please tell me.  Tiegh
