I have a problem with an old Compaq Per.7596 locking up. I think it was started by my recently loading DSL software. I did XP restore and it wouldn't boot. I went Compaq chat and they had me flash the BIOS. After that, the computer will not boot at all. They say that it was probably the wrong firmware. Now it goes through the memory check and displays a error: "162-System Options Not Set". Now Compaq says take it to a Service Center. It does not go to BIOS settings, doesn't get that far. It will not boot with a floppy. How do I flash the BIOS to a computer that will not boot??
