    this is really weird...
my computer keep on restarting up to the safe mode or normal mode menu.
so i reinstall windowsXP and formated my Harddrive.
but when the installation reach to the 39Min's its just keep on there and did not
continue to move. i reinstall again and again and again but still when the installation reach the 39min its a long wait, the 39Min's of wait becomes hours and hours it don't move.

so i bring my PC to the shop, the technician just put a CD, i try to ask what's it for he did not answer me. After some clicks he remove the CD and put windowXP and miraculously its finished loading.

Now the same thing is happing with my other PC.
can anyone know what the CD for ? how can i get it :-)

I don't know what he did but I would like to talk with that tech!

It sounds like he has a boot disk that let him work with your hard drive. Maybe mark a bad block?

Sounds like a clone CD to me.

And it also sounds like you have bad memory.

It's possible his XP CD was from MS and the one you used may not be...
If that's not the case the most common cause of this is RAM issues...
How about some machine specs ? ?

      bad block?
      bad memory?

how can the clone CD fix the bad block?
Where can i find a clone CD?
What is a clone CD anyway?

bad memory ... i had just add a second hand memory to my PC.
      it's 128MB before then i put another 128MB and 64MB...
I'll try to put new one...

but how did the tech guy fix it if its a bad memory using the CD ?

Is the Microsoft Windows CD you used genuine or a copy?

Adding second hand memory to the computer might be part of the problem. It might faulty.

The best way to tell is the CD is filled with shiny holograms and says Microsoft all over it...somehow i don't think this is the case here.

You may want to reconsider putting XP on that machine even if it is a RAM issue...
XP with all of the updates will eat up most of that hard drive.
