Ultimately, only you can decide, since only you know what programs you want to keep and which ones you could let go.  But, I noticed several things in the images you posted.

You have multiple instances of Java.  Remove all but the latest; that's all you need for Java.  And, I see multiple entries of Microsoft.NET.  I'm not a .NET subscriber, so I don't know whether you have duplicate stuff there you can get rid of, but it looks suspect to me.

I see you have Wise Disk Cleaner/Wise Registry Cleaner, but you also have CCleaner.  Perhaps you could remove one of them.  And, what about the item called PCHealth?  Do you use it?

What are all the MSXML 4.0 SP2 items?  Are those files very big?

You also appear to have numerous photography programs.  Do you feel you need all of them?

The Microsoft .NET framework is needed for a lot of programs. I recommend you don't remove it.

-=EDIT=-

Made a mistake first time and said problems, not programs haha

Uninstall, whatever doesn't ring a bell.
If any doubt, ask here.

Another option - back up your data, and reformat.

But, his image shows 6 icons for Microsoft .NET.  Is that normal?

You should have at least .NET 2.0. You only need .NET 1.1 if you still run anything older that won't work with .NET 2.0.

But about 3.0 and 3.5, I think you only need 3.5, not both. I could be mistaken on that part. I haven't installed either because I haven't had a use for them or any programs that require them yet.

It's up to him to decide what other programs he has that require .NET framework and choose the appropriate version to keep installed. I was just replying to his comment of "for eg i dont use microsoft net", as he may use it and not realize it. If he uninstalls it and a program needs it, the program will no longer work.

Have you cleaned up your hdd and deleted unnecessary files such as XP hotfix uninstallers?

Open HijackThis, click Config... button, click Misc Tools button, click Open Uninstall Manager button, then Save list button.
Post the list.

Why not just buy a bigger hard drive and use the new drive manuf. utilities to "clone" your existing drive to the new one ? ?
It will give you some breathing room and you can then start the housekeeping process.

The .NET framework packs are individual and unique...they are not cumulative like the Service Packs are...
