Music on this site
« on: May 10, 2008, 08:13:14 PM »
For some reason I can't get the music on this site to play on my Toshiba laptop with Vista. I've checked the advanced tools with the tools on this computer and they are both the same. Does anyone know what I'm missing?

What browser?
It looks like QuickTime plug-in missing.

IE and Im assuming it's 7.0 I can't remember where to go to check the version. Why should I require an Apple product to make my Microsoft product play music?

To check version:
Help menu -> About Internet Explorer

If the file format is an Apple owned format (i.e. MOV), then you have to have their software to run it, or another software with the CODEC to do so.

In the case of that website, you do need Apple Quicktime to play their media stream.

You're funny, but you can always use QuickTime Alternative: http://www.filehippo.com/download_quicktime_alternative/

This is a very sound policy.

It was on mine in it's very first forms years and years ago (10+ years). I haven't had it on a computer since.

Ooops. I spoke too soon. I lost the sound on that site with the alternative installed. I even tried installing it twice. I guess I'll have to go back to Apple if I want have music on those sites.
