Optical mouse freezes computer
« on: May 11, 2008, 09:53:57 PM »
My Sony Viao FXA48 laptop keeps freezing. Only rebooting unfreezes it. It locks up when I'm moving the pointer on a microsoft optical mouse (which has worked for  a long time). I've uninstalled the mouse driver and it didn't help. What to try now. Maybe it has nothing to do with the mouse. If I unplug the mouse, I have yet to get the pc to freeze, but I HATE the mouse pad. Thanks.

Did you reinstall the driver?

Try another mouse...all hardware fails eventually.
