Hackers' posts on epilepsy forum cause migraines, seizures

SAN FRANCISCO - Computer attacks typically don't inflict physical pain on their victims.

But in a rare example of an attack apparently motivated by malice rather than money, hackers recently bombarded the Epilepsy Foundation's Web site with hundreds of pictures and links to pages with rapidly flashing images.

The breach triggered severe migraines and near-seizure reactions in some site visitors who viewed the images. People with photosensitive epilepsy can get seizures when they're exposed to flickering images, a response also caused by some video games and cartoons.

I used to have a friend who would pass out at concerts due to the flashing lights. It's nothing slightly humorous. Loosing consciousness with no warning doesn't afford one the luxury of catching themselves or softening the fall. Lost teeth are not uncommon in these falls. What these idiots did is really nothing to be even slightly amused about.

yeah I have a high sugar level an once during shop.  I almost passed out.  Told my mom I was diabetic turned out a friend has the same problem too.  Then it happens when I stand for long periods of time.  Like when I went my sister to those later night kurch things
