Trouble with Sleep Mode
« on: May 21, 2008, 11:16:09 PM »
I have an HP Pavillion (desktop) computer running Windows Vista, 1 GB RAM, Not sure what the processor is.  I have been trying to use the sleep mode instead of shutting down the computer, but it will only sleep for a few seconds and then returns to full operating power.  I can't seem to find anything in Help to deal with this.  I have tried fiddling around in Control Panel but I don't know my way around Vista well enough yet.

Can anyone help me figure this out?

Thanks

Bruce

Is this a new machine? Did the problem just start?  Have you installed a new program?

I just shut off the option that allows network connections to wake up the computer and that did the trick.

    Thanks
