    Epson R220 Problem
    « on: May 29, 2008, 03:39:04 AM »
    First hello to everyone  ;D

i installed a cis system on this printer about a year ago and have had no problems at all until now.

When i switch the printer on the red ink light is on static. I have tried re-installing the cartriges but it still wont work.

I have used the ssc utility program in the past and that was to reset the printer because the service light came on. It has worked perfectly since then though....

Any help would be much appriciated thanks

    mat

    thanks

I ask this a lot, but will the printer perform a self test diagnostic?

many people go back to cartridges after getting problems with CIS addons. Just do a Google. You voided any warranty when you added the CIS and that low price is just too good to be true!

im not being rude and i do have patience. , i bumped the topic because i am waiting for a reply from Ageis also, if its out of sight its out of mind so i dont see any harm in bumping.

The reason i said what i did is because i typed "printer help" in google and this was the first link that came up.

The location for free online computer support and computer related information.

matlamont, I think that as far as this site is concerned, your printer is "busted" and that's it.

This is the self test that Aegis talked about

Follow the steps below to use the Nozzle Check utility.

Make sure that Letter size paper is loaded in the sheet feeder.

                 Access the printer software.

Click the Maintenance tab, then click the Nozzle Check button.

                 Follow the on-screen instructions.

                I edited my response.

I was apparently having a brainstorm, which in my case, is more like a light drizzle.   ::)

Mat:  its a forum.  Sometimes my responses are half (or less) of what I want them to be because I've sat in front of so many different systems and computers and peripherals, I can't keep them straight!  I do better when I'm right there.  I do better on my own stuff because I'm willing to jack around with my own stuff in ways I won't recommend to others.

Even if I am a jack of all trades / master of none, there are extremely knowledgeable people on this forum who've forgotten more than I've learned about many things in the computer arena.
